What can I expect from my appointment?

All nail trim appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes. That time allows for bonding with your kitty and a stress-free approach to be performed. To help your kitty feel more comfortable, we have Feliway pheromone spray, a nice fleece swaddle (if your kitty likes to be snuggled to feel secure), and a variety of treat options! If you know that your kitty loves a specific treat, let us know! We will make sure to document your kitty's preferences to keep future appointments as fear-free and comfortable as possible. Please keep your kitty inside and, if necessary, in a room where they cannot hide under furniture. The act of pulling a kitty out from under furniture can be stressful, thus making a nail trim more difficult to perform.

What is a “Meet & Treat” appointment?

The goal of a “Meet & Treat” appointment is to meet your cat(s) without first attempting to trim their nails, to learn their comfort levels with different steps of the grooming/nail trimming process, and develop a plan of action for the actual grooming appointment. This is a great option for clients who know their cats can be a bit “challenging”.

At Midnight's Manicures we understand that each kitty is unique with their own preferences and boundaries, especially when it comes to nail trimming/grooming. We take each part of the nail trimming process step-by-step to learn your kitty's boundaries and create a more positive experience for current and future appointments. As the name implies, treats are freely given throughout the appointment to provide a more positive experience for all!

What requirements are there for my cat to have their nails trimmed?

Proof of current rabies vaccination, or a letter from a veterinarian stating that your pet cannot safely receive vaccinations, is the only requirement. This information can be provided before the appointment via email, text message or physically at the time of the appointment.

What areas do you service?

Midnight’s Manicures mainly services the Marion/Polk counties, Oregon area but may expand in the future! Please do not hesitate to give us a call to see if your location is in our service area.

What forms of payment can you accept?

Midnight’s Manicures can accept cash or credit card payment. Payment is due at time of service.

What is the cost?

The cost of a nail trim appointment is $45. Any additional kitties in the home that need their nails trimmed will be charged $20 each within that visit. We understand that kitties can be like potato chips; you can't always have just one! Each visit includes a fear-free approach, safely trimmed nails, unlimited treats and tender loving care!

If you would like to learn how to trim your kitty’s nails safely at home, the cost of an appointment is $60. These appointments are longer in duration than a routine appointment and include: a lesson on cat nail anatomy, a demonstration on how to safely trim nails for your kitty at home based on their needs/comfort level using a fear-free approach, safely trimmed nails and unlimited treats!

A “Meet and Treat” appointment is $25.

What if I need to cancel?

We understand that unforeseen circumstances and emergencies arise. If you need to cancel, please reach out at least 24 hours in advance.

If you need to cancel the same day, please let us know as soon as possible. If appointments are continually cancelled the same day, a $23 cancellation fee will apply and deposits may be required prior to future appointments.

What if my cat has an ingrown nail?

It is required that your kitty be seen by a veterinarian PRIOR to a nail trim being performed. That way if the ingrown nail requires any special care or treatments, they can be performed at that same veterinarian visit. However, we understand that kitties are very good at hiding discomfort. If an ingrown nail is found during your appointment, all other nails will be safely trimmed, but the affected nail(s) will not be trimmed. A visit to your veterinarian will be required to trim the affected nail(s) per Oregon Veterinary Practice laws.

What if my cat’s nails are unable to be trimmed?

If you are concerned that your cat may be too stressed for a nail trim, it would be a good idea to schedule a "Meet and Treat" appointment. At that appointment, we can offer solutions to help ensure you and your cat have the best possible experience.

If your cat’s nails cannot be safely trimmed, you will be charged the travel cost, and based on the behaviors shown at the time of the appointment, we can discuss different approaches to provide a more positive experience for your kitty.
